This assignment represents an opportunity for you to contribute to the research performed in our Computer Science department of the University Politehnica of Bucharest, by helping us collect a large dataset which will enable an interdisciplinary study on personality traits and movement. This requires you filling in approximately 5 personality questionnaires and walking multiple times in front of three cameras.
Above is an example of a run. There are three cameras at different angles (0, 45 and 90 degrees) that capture walking patterns. Along the cameras, subjects wear devices that collect data from inertial sensors. It is required to perform the same walk, but with a few variations:
- (init) Warm-up walking (same as Normal walking) - 2 runs
- (nm) Normal walking (Baseline) - 4 runs
- (wss) Slower walking speed - 2 runs
- (wsf) Faster walking speed - 2 runs
- (txt) Walking while texting - 2 runs
- (ph) Walking while talking on the phone - 2 runs
- (lug) Walking while dragging luggage - 2 runs
- (cr) Walking while pushing a shopping cart - 2 runs
- (eye) Walking while looking straight ahead (front-level camera/ door) - 2 runs
- (wb1) Walking while looking at point 1 on whiteboard - 2 runs
- (wb2) Walking while looking at point 2 on whiteboard - 2 runs
- (fin) Final walking (same as Normal Walking) - 2 runs
- (cb) Carry bag - 2 runs
- (cl) Different clothing - 2 runs
The walking pattern will be extracted using pose estimation methods.
Tasks
1. Fill in questionnaire
This Google Form contains 6 questionnaires for self-reported psychometrics of various personality traits (Big Five, Self-Esteem, Assertiveness, Aggression, Anxiety etc).

3. Walk in a straight line
The camera setup is located in the Google Lab (EG 302).
- Duration: approx. 20 minutes
- Very important to not be late.
This study is approved by the UPB Ethics Review Board.
Daca ati participat la colectarea de date semestrul trecut in cadrul cursului Evaluarea Performantelor, NU mai puteti participa si in cadrul acestei materii.
Puteti in schimb sa gasiti un inlocuitor, cineva dispus sa completeze chestionarul si sa vina la colectare, care sa nu aiba una dintre materiile unde se da punctaj pentru dataset. Inlocuitorul (prieten/a, coleg/a, ..) trebuie sa foloseasca adresa lui de email, si sa anunte asistentul in momentul colectarii datelor de mers ca este un inlocuitor pentru studentul X, materia X.
