This is an old revision of the document!
The issue the platform intends to solve is based on the “cumbersome” adaptation students face in the academic environment, who haven't enough resources and available information in an easy way. Reducing feelings of homesickness may be difficult for some but may be accomplished by remaining on campus during the week and on weekends. This may help students to get to know their campus and become more involved in athletic and social events. Students learn more about campus resources and make friends with other students, with whom they may find common ground.
When we do not get to know and spend time with classmates, professors and other academic advisors, we lack support and a place to go for ideas and answers when a problem does arise.
This may help students to get to know their campus and become more involved in athletic and social events. Students learn more about campus resources and make friends with other students, with whom they may find common ground. Stay in touch with those back home through phone, mail and email but force yourself to become part of the culture within your new academic world.
Practical experience and internship opportunities should always be taken advantage of, in order to provide maximum networking opportunities for students.
Among other facilities that the platform intends to offer we can list the facility to purchase books offered by a senior person, reviews through which students can get advice on various courses and teachers.
The proposed platform incorporates all of the above-mentioned facilities, made available to students and teachers, and attempts to integrate, unify everything into a single easy-to-use and navigable interface. It is more desirable to extend this platform to cover the needs of social networking (intranet, educational campus) in which interaction between student and teacher or between students is allowed. Among other things, it is trying to increase the efficiency of a modern online-oriented educational model by developing essential components such as the selling / buying book, student lifestyle, tracking careers / jobs and interships for students, and a video content system - upload video materials, webstreaming and recording capabilities in lessons and lecturers in an easy-to-use way.
The FlyCampus is an projected that is intended to be used by educational centers, like Universities, Colleges, Schools. Ultimately the end users are the students attending to their respective institution.

Our persona is called Morty, and he is a college student. He is living in the campus, and like most youngsters he is rather bad at organizing his life. Morty likes to go on adventures with his friend (Rick). As a student, what he lacks most is time. Also the college can sometimes prove pretty difficult, and the teachers can be exigent as well. Because of various reasons (totally not Rick), Morty sometimes has to skip classes. Yet, he does not want to miss anything, so he is trying to study alone. His main problem is that he does not always have the resources needed for that: not all courses have a digital format version, and he has to rely on notes from his colleagues. Furthermore Morty does not always write down everything important in a class, thinking he will remember in 4 months, for the final examination. He would like to have a way to be able to study alone and have access to all the information that was presented in class. If he could access that information easily (without stealing Rick's portal gun), he would both save some time and also increase his grades.

As we want to make sure everything works fine, we track some of the key metrics described above. To do that we use this dashboard where we can observe our site web traffic, the number of active members and universities.

FlyCampus is a web site dedicated to students in an educational and entertaining way where students can find details about exams, courses, laboratories and events. The site offers all available materials related to faculty subjects in which students are enrolled.
To access the materials provided, each student / teacher will need to create an account using his / her personal email address or the dedicated address from the faculty to which they are enrolled.
Once the account is created, the user will have access to the ENROLL page where all of the courses added by the teachers can be found. The user can enroll in the courses he / she collects in the faculty but also in courses that the user wants to follow outside the school program.

The frontend was done using mostly HTML/CSS and Javascript. We used Bootstrap a lot, especially the cards, because the backend guy had no clue what he was doing, so he made the assignment first and learned to use one thing: cards :). We redesigned the UX mockup, as we think the current version represents a major improvement.
We used Node.js and Express, along with MongoDB. The application is fully capable of registering users, and storing their related information. The forum is fully functional as well, replies can be made and are stored permanently.
We deployed the app on the provided infrastructure (virtual machine, using nginx).
